A person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition after a vehicle and cyclist collided on Linwood Ave.
The crash happened just before 4pm on Tuesday, between Hereford St and Buckleys Rd.
“Initial indications suggest there are serious injuries,” police said in a statement.
Traffic management was being put in place while emergency services attend the scene.
A St John spokeswoman said they were called to the incident at 3.46pm.
“Two ambulances and a manager responded to the scene and treated then transported one patient in a critical condition to Christchurch Hospital,’’ they said in a statement.
